The Justice Secretary, Dominic Raab is keen to introduce new ‘incentives’ and ‘disincentives’ to ‘spare children the trauma of seeing their parents fight it out at court’.  
 
The Deputy Prime Minister sees Mediation as the default process for those separated families, (where there are no safeguarding issues or domestic abuse).   It has been found that 50% of family cases should be resolved outside of court and the Justice Secretary is keen to find ways to make that happen and reduce the burden on courts.
